【Food Review】Seafood Denbei2019.01.26

Today, we are going to show you our Sashimi Donburi Restaurant Denbei’s popular menu.

Denbei is located at the 2nd floor of the Escal Plaza.

They are based in Itoigawa, Niigata prefecture, just next to the Sea of Japan.

It is only 40km away from Hakuba village, 1 hour drive and famous for its delicious sea food during the winter season.

All fresh sea food of Denbei come directly from the fishing port there and they are filleted only at Escal Plaza. Very fresh!!

Today, we ordered the most recommended plate, “HANA” and “Hakuba Goryu Don”

which is the first and second picture from the left side of the menu.

The chef of the restaurant cuts the blocks of the fish into the slices very quickly and dish up them on a big rice bowl, call DONBURI.

By the way, the rice which they use, is made localy in Itoigawa.

It is also used at the restaurant where has been listed on the Michelin Guide.

As it is very fresh, the kinds of fish is changing almost everyday.

So please check at the restaurant about the fish of the day.

This is “Hakuba Goryu Don”, ¥1,680.

It comes with 6 kinds of sea food and a soup of the day.

This is the No.1 recommended DON,”HANA”. ¥2,380

It comes with 10 kinds of sea food of the day at least. Today was 16 kinds of sea food!!

The chef told us that the most recommended fish of the season is angler and cold yellowtail.

They become more delicious to February.

Also, the restaurant have various kinds of local sake of the Niigata prefecture.
